Profile

The students acquire basic chemical knowledge in general theoretic chemistry and in analytical laboratories. The specific textile chemical knowledge is provided in specialized theory lessons, colour application laboratories and workshops. The education is completed by subjects of general education.

Professional Skills

A comprehensive basic education in chemistry enables students to find employment in non-textile branches. Students will be qualified to work in typical textile chemistry branches where workers must be familiar with bleaching, dying, printing, textile finishing, chemical cleaning and in the laboratory. They will also be able to work in the construction material industry, food industry, synthetics industry and related offices.

Additionally this kind of school type is an appropriate preparation for further education in medical-technical and chemical-technical professions.

Admission to higher education

Three options:

• After three years studying students with good or outstanding achievements at the final examinations in textile chemistry are entitled to pass over to the third form of Textile Management and Textile Technology at the HTL Dornbirn.

• Students with good or outstanding achievements at the final examinations in textile chemistry are also entitled to pass over to the third form of Chemical Industrial and Environmental Engineering at the HTL Dornbirn but must undergo an assessment before they get the final admission to these higher courses at the HTL.

• If students acquire relevant work experience after graduating from Textile Chemistry, they will be enabled to obtain a general qualification for university entrance.
