Profile
Besides a broad general education the main focus of the instruction is set on practical experience and technical theory. Technical theories are: the technology of clothing, textile fibres, designing of the cut and garments, cutting construction and modelling work as well as design.
Professional skills
As this technically specific education is very eclectic, alumni of Garment Manufacture are preferenceably employed as workers for the development of designs, tailoring, disposition, quality control, ironing and sewing.
Admission to higher education
Two options:
- After three years studying students with good or outstanding achievements at the final examinations garment manufacturing are entitled to pass over to the third form of Textile Technology (College) at the HTL Dornbirn. They will be enabled to obtain a general qualification for university entrance.
- Students with good or outstanding achievements at the final examinations are entitled attend a specific advanced training course in Garment Manufactur for 3 years. They will be enabled to obtain a general qualification for university entrance.
